Who needs a QBCC Site Supervisor – Low-Rise Licence?

Anyone supervising construction work on low-rise residential or commercial projects in Queensland. This includes Site Managers, Foremen, Project Managers, and Contract Administrators.

What building work can I supervise with this licence?

You can supervise Class 1 and 10 buildings, as well as Class 2 to 9 buildings up to 2000m² (excluding Type A or B construction). You can also oversee non-structural work on any building and prepare plans for your own use.

What building work is excluded under this licence?

You cannot supervise work that requires a separate fire protection or occupational licence (like plumbing or electrical), nor can you supervise Type A or B construction or larger projects over 2000m².

Do I need formal qualifications to apply?

Yes. You’ll need a relevant qualification from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or equivalent recognition, such as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
